Pastor Jeff Lavoie is a native of Massachusetts. His own spiritual journey includes an inspiring tale of the redemption of faith. Though he grew up in church, he drifted away as he battled drug addiction as a youth growing up in the Lowell area. He tried everything to get off of drugs- rehabs, detoxes, but nothing seemed to work.
It wasn’t until 2000, when he was placed in county prison for several months that the trajectory of his life forever changed. He came out of prison a different man than he had gone in. After getting out, Jeff proceeded to take some classes at a local Bible College. Since that time Jeff has worked in various pastoral positions across MA. He is passionate about sharing God’s message of love and reconciliation that changed his own life.
In 2015, Jeff along with an incredible launch team planted the Well Community Church in Halifax, MA. He is passionate about reaching out to the community, developing leaders, and finding new ways to communicate Christ's love in relevant and engaging ways.
Jeff likes playing guitar, bowling, watching tv/movies (especially cheesy ones from the 1980s), golfing, reading/collecting comic books, researching and writing. One of his favorite things to do is to hang out with his amazing family- his wife Laurie (Barnard) and their two children Emma and Wesley. Jeff also works as a professor of philosophy at Newbury College (Brookline, MA) and at Middlesex Community College (Lowell/Bedford, MA). His PhD is in the Philosophy of Religion from the University of Exeter (UK).
